The choice of material is certainly one of the more important determinants of this type of career, with stages and in areas where weather patterns and especially temperature are crucial.

Although conditions in the chosen dates are not optimal, we must never exclude the possibility of rain or gray one day make an appearance during the development of the race, although factors highly unlikely in any case unimportant, we must not reject, so participants must provide, from the point of view of hardware, such an eventuality.

In addition, we should also bear in mind that the race route travels between 2,000 and 4,100 m above sea level, so needless to say, the heat variability is large and can vary from 15 ┬║ to 18 ┬║ C during the day or even until the -2┬║ or -3┬║C during the night, but could in some parts of the test, in exceptional cases, at - 10┬░ C overnight.

Since the temperatures at dusk, night and dawn can be particularly low, participants must also pay particular attention to the fleece to be used at the end of the scene, like a sleeping bag, a hat and gloves and the consequences of this in terms of weight. Mandatory equipment and personal effects of each participant must be a minimum total weight of 3,5 kg. and up to 7 kg.

SLEEPING BAG

Undoubtedly one of the main elements to consider when choosing the material of the race. Choosing the right sleeping bag can make an essential contribution to the quality of sleep and recovery, which will undoubtedly yield condition.

Tell specifically what type of bag is not easy to use, among other things, becausenot only are important differences in sensitivity to temperature level between different people, but that same person may react very differently during use of the bag to another later or earlier, and in the specific case at hand may depend oncumulative physical load, nutrition, hydration, etc ... in general, with all the prudencethat requires a council of these features, our recommendation is to have a bag -5or -10 feathers temperature comfort.

The synthetic, cheaper, equally valid and the same benefits as feathers, although slightly heavier. A good combination, in order to save weight, it would choose a bag of feathers from -5 to comfort, plus a savannah Thermolite interior, therebyreducing weight and got an acceptable or optimal thermal comfort, as appropriate.

However, the option of -10 of comfort would be the most advisable.

The technical details (collar, shape of the hood, isolation of the zipper, etc..) Are factors that largely determine the heat capacities of a sack, those that allow hot airto effectively accumulate inside. As a general rule, it is advisable for this type of material to choose a brand absolutely recognized.

At low temperature defects inconstruction or design error will help to lower the indoor temperature, factors thatrarely occurs in top brands.

SHOES

In terms of race specific footwear, is a world well known in the corridors of runningand a vast market of possibilities. The contribution we can do is talk about the terrain.

The terrain is varied and mainly runs along mountain trails, routes traveled partly follows and partly lies outside the usual trekking routes and transit of people. There are few sections without gap, either positive or negative.

There are many areas of stone steps, both uphill and downhill, combiningwoodland, passing through many villages and high mountain areas deforested. Therefore, the terrain is varied and this must be added that, exceptionally in a fewsectors, especially north-facing relegation, it is possible to find land with some snow. Exceptionally, and that the time is not propitious, may precipitate as snowand we can find also some sections with mud.

Recommend taking into account that besides the shoes used in the race would beadvisable to have a comfortable, lightweight shoe for stage finish and stay in the camp.

BACKPACK

Ergonomic grip and the back. As in other fields, that of the bag ends up being a slippery slope to recommend. Some people prefer very light backpacks, though sometimes uncomfortable, with little capacity to adapt to the back. And there are those that prioritize the comfort at the expense of weight. Of course there areintermediate options that guarantee a great extent both. In any case, we couldestablish minimum standards recommended for the EVEREST TRAIL RACE.

First, you have enough capacity so you can fit the material loosely binding the race.

Second, it is waterproof or has integrated rain cover. It would be fatal to a shower, there are times current in the conclusion of the race, get wet sleeping bag andwarm clothes. Is also important carrier that has external drum or internal pouch to carry water, and built whistle.

HEAD LAMP

Also essential element of career, both in camps and in stages in which, by its duration, may be required of the route of night. Models suggest large amplitude of focus in addition a sufficient number of batteries.

It should be enough to carry this pilasy, because even in Nepal is possible to find batteries, are usually of good quality and in some cases their life is surprisingly short.

SAFETY PIN

Necessary to fix the dorsal chest and backpack. Although you need only eight, recommend bringing spare because the lats are often subjected to significant wear.

COMPASS

As with other materials, the world of compasses is also diverse but yet simple. There are several types of compasses, transparent plate, cover plate with mirror, digital lensáticas, etc ... For simplicity, we will say that it is sufficient with a transparent plate compass. In any case if you cast aside advise lensáticas compasses rather impractical.

The organization will provide a map of the route, in addition to properly mark the path with different indications. With this in mind, one might think that it is necessary to use the compass. An oversight, a sudden fog, or any situation which might lead us to not know where we make the use of this element, which used correctly can get us some problems.

WATCH AND GPS

An important element to consider in the race. As you all know there are various models and brands in the market that offer various options to help us conduct a race of this nature, distance traveled, distance to target, estimated arrival time, altitude, etc ... The organization will provide geographical coordinates step controls and the camp that we can give a constant position information and travel.

WARM CLOTHING

We emphasize paragraph outerwear. As mentioned above, temperatures sunset, at night and in the morning can be particularly low, which should take special care to use fleece to finish the stage and throughout the remainder of the evening. Section career apparel, namely that of the day, we understand that should not raise serious doubts. In short, we believe it is the same that you use regularly in mountain races, preferably tights, although as in other thats just an idea and there are tastes for everyone (tights, short, pirates .....). In point race shirt we can apply the same principle, that you use regularly in similar conditions in autumn time.

The most committed begins at the end of the stage or in times of prolonged rest in the low temperature can be noted. We therefore recommend, input, thermal underwear advise you to change immediately at the finish by the race. Be dried as quickly as possible is essential for fast retrieval. From this premise, we can choose from a jacket pocket pen light in compressive and lightweight, which combined with thermal undergarments and a cover PackLite or gore tex or similar, in case of rain or wind, we offer a and thermal comfort guarantees evident. To this can be added a fleece tights or wool "Merino". Do not forget either gloves and a hat. The mornings are cold and warm any material is appreciated.
